There is the obvious security culture implications, but why else?

I think besides the obvious security risks, there is also a desire to put forth ideas not mired down by people evaluating texts based upon the personality of the writer(s), their associations, etc. and i guess the idea is that perhaps this will lead to a more focused critique of the actual ideas of the text.  It's interesting because I understand the desire to evaluate texts solely on the ideas presented so weird scene drama isnt taken into account, but there is, I think, also something to say about what ideas mean or what is intended by the writing that can be inferred based upon who the writers are or where they come from (academia, different theoretical currents, etc.)
