Brand argues for what is essentially leftist/democratic government. He is not an anarchist.

The guy spouts some "radical" rhetoric on tv or in a paper and suddenly he's the new messiah of the"radical liberals" and "revolutionary left". Ugh

That said, in his recent tv appearances and publications (which I am assuming is/are the inspiration(s) for this question, but I could be dead wrong, oh well) he does speak /some/ truth to power and could be useful in encouraging others to explore alternatives to the status quo.
Of course there's nothing to guarantee these would be desired and/or specifically anarchist alternatives, but fuck it, just keep on truckin.

Yeah, Brand pretty explicitly says in the recent BBC interview that he is in favor of government, though at other times he sounds critical of institutional power entirely. I doubt he is an anarchist, but I still enjoyed watching him spar with a stodgy political journalist, or whoever that guy was.
That's exactly who that guy is.  I have to say I really enjoyed Russell's tirade at the end - "I don't need the right from you, I don't need the right from anybody, I'm taking it."
